Made it to Sarria finally!

We took the last bus out of Monforte de Lemos and arrived safely in Sarria. We missed two trains but are happy to be here and checked in our room. Nothing open for dinner. So, it’s trail mix and cookies for dinner. Blame it all on the full moon.

Train riding and more train

Well, we have seen Spain. Loads of different terrains including the sea, mountains, flat farmlands and now back to hills. Beautiful old buildings and interesting towns. We are still riding the train and may have to find alternative transportation in Monforte de Lemos… They have had a few issues today

Barcelona!

We have arrived and are no longer depending on Carnival Dream for transportation, food and shelter. We hiked from ship to our room with our fancy new backpacks. It was only 2.75 miles. Felt like all uphill or at least up and over the bridge to the city. Lots

A visit to Castell de Santa Barbara

In honor of Mrs. Barbara (aka Mom and our Saint Barbara), we visited her castle. Built in 9th century (800-900AD), the castle has a lot of history. Castle was captured on December 4th, 1248 which is the Feast Day for Saint Barbara. So, they named it Santa Barbara. St. Barbara

Hola from Spain 🇪🇸

We are officially in Spain. Today, we enjoyed a bus and walking tour. We saw the beach, fort, castle, bullfighting ring, old Roman theater, cathedral and oranges trees. Kasey had a cappuccino coffee ☕️ and I had an ice cream.🍨 Weather is nice. 62, windy and sun trying to stay out.

Whale, Ships, Buoys, Planes

Tuesday was the best date for sightings of ships, planes, buoys and a whale! We saw about three freighters ships, a military type ship, a few buoys and the whale. When we came up to the top deck in the morning, we heard rumor of a whale but never saw

Checking in finally

Sunsets

We have had some beautiful weather and sunsets. Some with clouds, some a little too late and some with the planets lined up too. Also during the day, we had the solar eclipse with the ring of fire. We could see it. Just have the moon near the sun.

Games played

Walking the Boat not the Plank

Yes, we are walking every day. We walk in the mornings the majority of our miles. Then eat, rest and get a little walk in the afternoon and evening. The 12th floor track is 7 laps for a mile and the 5th floor is 2.5 laps for 1 mile.
