Camino Dia 8: Welcome to the Municipality of Santiago De Compostela

We’ve made it to the Municipality of Santiago de Compostela…. Meaning the outskirts of town and suburbs.

Today, we had rain. Light rain but rain. Glad to have our waterproof shoes and our complete rain suits.

We hiked around the edge of the airport here. Seems like we heard the planes for hours before we saw the runways. Of course, the airport is up the hill. Up we went again.

We passed a few salespeople along the way. We normally see them daily out selling their Camino bracelets, magnets and wax seals (stamps).

Kasey did his daddy proud today by crossing the road to get a picture of the waterfall. Narrow curvy road. 😬

Tomorrow, we will complete our hike. I think we have a small hill to climb and then head on downhill. Yay!

We got a room in the only open hotel in Vilamaior which has the only open restaurant in town too. Very nice place and food.
