Barcelona!

We have arrived and are no longer depending on Carnival Dream for transportation, food and shelter.

We hiked from ship to our room with our fancy new backpacks. It was only 2.75 miles. Felt like all uphill or at least up and over the bridge to the city. Lots of winds along the coast.

Christopher Columbus was pointing us to the Americas. He was wondering why we came all this way after he worked hard to “discover” the Americas.

We came across construction on our street. Looks like they hit an archaeologically significant site. Construction work has stopped in that area. There is a team shifting though the dirt. It appears they found some pottery.

The Airbnb folks were nice enough to let us in our room 3 hours early. Dropped off the packs and went to find lunch.

Lunch choices were McDonald‘s and KFC! McDonald’s won out. Kasey had a “different” cheeseburger. I stuck with the nuggets.

We then stopped at pharmacy for toothpaste. Who would have thought that travel sizes just barely make it across from the USA to here. Our Spanish needs improvement, we almost ended up with the denture cream and not toothpaste. 😬

Next, we wondered over to check out the giant gat (cat) in honor of Cookie (Iris and Emily’s cat).🐈‍⬛

Grabbed snacks for tomorrow’s train and now for an afternoon siesta.
